Biography

Pavlo Virsky was a Ukrainian choreographer and dance director who founded and led the Virsky Ukrainian National Folk Dance Ensemble — one of the world's most acclaimed folk dance companies. Born in Odesa, Virsky combined classical ballet training with deep knowledge of Ukrainian folk dance traditions to create a theatrical folk dance style that was technically demanding, visually spectacular, and deeply rooted in Ukrainian culture.
